Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church is committed to developing both our congregation and our community. In April 2001, St. Luke purchased by faith 42 acres of land near our Norris Avenue campus. The land is affectionately called Cindy Lane because of the street it resides on. Cindy Lane's beautiful natural landscape has been maintained despite growing development around the preserve.
With the leadership of Pastor Clifford Matthews Jr., St. Luke has accepted the challenge to steward the land for the benefit of our surrounding neighborhoods. St. Luke is committed to comprehensive ministry. Through our Vision 2020: Committed to the Vision Campaign, Saint Luke has undertaken to provide critical resources for the Church and our community. When the project is complete, Cindy Lane will host the following:
- Multipurpose Center
- Family Life Center
- Recreation Center
- Children and Adult Daycare Center
- Classical Academy (grades K-5)
- Educational Space
- Counseling Center
- Enterprise Zone: Restaurants and Retail Shops
God has and continues to elevate St. Luke to be a place of empowerment, where the hurting, dejected, and the helpless can rise up to do great things through the power of Christ. The Vision is designed to be completed in three phases: Land Debt Liquidation, Site Plan Development, and Facility Construction.
We began in faith and will see the fulfillment of Cindy Lane through faith. We are indeed comforted by the words of the prophet, "For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it is will surely come, it will not tarry." Habakkuk 2:2-3
Our current Vision 2020: Committed to the Vision Campaign promises to insure the liquidation of the debt on the land. You can play a role in helping us realize the Vision. First, you can pray. Great vision is propelled forward by great prayer. Secondly, you can become a Vision Partner. We're asking members and friends of this ministry to partner with us and the Vision through financial support pledges. All contributions are tax deductible and receipts for contributions will be sent on a quarterly basis.
